Christmas Tree Excess
Submitted by BALLUS FICTIOUS on Sun, 10/18/2009 - 19:56I am sure this will not sit well with some here in Granville but personally I do not like the Trees running down South Main St. They have come and marked out the utilities so the 4x4 poles can be dug into the ground to support the electrical wires. The markers, posts, and wires take away more than the trees add. Plus it is all just a big waste of money.

Dan Rogers
Submitted by presshound on Tue, 08/18/2009 - 09:12Dan Rogers has done so much for this community. I do not know why the village of Granville always gives him such a hard time? He fixed up his home much better than anyone else around. Look at the amount of detail he put into his home. He is now tring to improve Granville even further by opening up a taco stand. I think it is a great idea. We need more food variety in Granville.

Thank Jack
Submitted by askquestions on Thu, 03/19/2009 - 10:59I may not have agreed with all of your content, the slant you gave some articles, or the way you encouraged heated debate, but I appreciated your passion and willingness to follow your dreams. Your work on the Granville Press, help for the senior population and your work at the school will also be appreciated. Thank you and bless you.

What the "profits to earnings ratio" tells us
Submitted by ot on Thu, 03/05/2009 - 18:29The other day President Obama talked of the “profit to earnings ratio” as he was trying to convince people that the time to invest in the stock market might be here.
Does the Free Market have a Genetic Flaw?
Submitted by Silence B Good on Mon, 03/02/2009 - 14:27A free market is a market in which the prices for goods and services are set by agreement between the Buyers and Sellers with no external intervention. Generally speaking, Buyers favor lower prices in the market. Sellers with lower prices are rewarded, through purchases, by Buyers. Over the long run, Sellers with lower prices will survive while their competitors will fail and exit the market.

The Right of Revolution
Submitted by Silence B Good on Sat, 02/21/2009 - 22:03Ceteris Paribus…
It is time to say, enough is enough. This country was founded in revolution. Thomas Jefferson advocated frequent uprisings to unleash the people from the inevitable bonds of oppression. In this day, we do not need guns to achieve our goals. The tyrant who oppresses us, my friends, is not in a desert half the globe away. He is on Wall Street.

I guess it was a clue when...
Submitted by ot on Thu, 02/05/2009 - 00:20I guess it was a clue when…
…he said he would take public funding and then he didn’t.
…he didn’t have the common sense to avoid someone like Rezko (or that crazy minister, or that 60s retread, or…)
…he promised us everything but lowering the level of the oceans.
…he made such a big deal about never hiring lobbyists to work in his administration.

An unofficial poll....
Submitted by ct on Tue, 01/27/2009 - 20:43Ok, let’s have some fun. Granville has at LEAST 10 restaurants in the downtown area….with DanR adding another to the mix, MAYBE! Let’s get back to Chicken Wings, those tasty bit sized morsels of flavor, SOMETIMES.
Who has the best wings in town…. and when you respond say which SAUCE on the wingette makes it the best.
Here are the competitors:
DelMar, 20 wings/$10.95

Abuse in the Board Room II
Submitted by cgardener on Wed, 01/07/2009 - 04:20I have received a follow-up letter to one of my columns from early last year. It reads: Dear Chauncey, Sorry to bother you again about this, but we are still having a problem. I don’t know if you remember my letter. I sent it nearly a year ago. It was about a board member who was repeatedly being abusive toward one of our loyal employees. Just the other week the board member was once again repeatedly being very difficult with that same employee. It was so bad that some of the other board members really lost their patience with him.

How about this:
Submitted by tweetybird on Tue, 11/18/2008 - 20:22Let’s see if we can get something going for some candidates for the Trustee position…..
Tom Hughes
Chris Hawkins
Jack Thornborough
Any other ideas? Let’s get something going before we get hoodwinked again.
Is there any way we can challenge a choice if we don’t approve?
